Thank you for your support!
Miracle Golf Day was a huge success! Your participation and contributions helped raise $30,949.22 for Rylin's Miracle...thank you!
Thank you
We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for your incredible support with RE/MAX Enterprises and RE/MAX Specialists' Miracle Child Golf fundraiser for our sweet daughter, Rylin. Words cannot fully convey how much your generosity and kindness mean to us and our family.
Raising a child with special needs comes with unique challenges, but thanks to the overwhelming love and support of people like you, we feel stronger, more hopeful, and uplifted. The funds raised during this event will go a long way in providing Rylin with the care, therapies, and opportunities that are essential for her growth and happiness, specifically the purchase of her augmentative and alternative communication device that will have a lasting impact on not only Rylin's life- but our whole family. We are so excited for her to be able to have a "voice" and communicate with the world around her.
From the sponsors, players, donators, family, friends, Re/Max Enterprises and Re/Max Specialists-every one of you played a part in making this fundraiser such an outstanding success-something we were truly in awe to witness at the event. The time, energy, and contributions you dedicated were truly amazing, and our family is so touched by your dedication. Your compassion has not only eased some of our burdens but has also reminded us of the power of community and the incredible impact that is felt when everyone comes together.
We are deeply thankful for your support and are truly blessed to have such caring people cheering for Rylin. On behalf of our entire family, please accept our heartfelt appreciation. We are truly honoured and there are not enough words to describe how thankful we are to all of you for gifting our sweet RyRy with this amazing opportunity.
With overwhelming gratitude, Robyn, Josh, Connor (Big Brother), and Rylin
Meet Rylin Alford
About Rylin
Rylin Alford. She is a 7 year old girl with a diagnosis of Primrose Syndrome, non verbal Autism, hearing impairment and a seizure disorder. With these diagnoses Rylin will never have "a normal" quality of life and will always need support in and out of the home.
Rylin just completed grade 1 in a mainstream classroom with the support of a full time Educational Assistant. She loves swimming, jumping on the trampoline, playing with sand and anything sensory. She also enjoys playing with her older brother and twirling ribbons and balloons.
I wanted to nominate Rylin as she has been working hard with her speech and language therapist in partnership with her EA and mother to learn to use an Augmentative and alternative communication device. This device has a specialized case with a keyboard and speakers to amplify sound due to her hearing impairment. She is making progress but the government will not help fund a portion of the device unless she improves her use of it. The remaining cost of the device far exceeds what the family can afford. Due to her seizure disorder she has had some setbacks with her developing the skills. Therefore, the government will not assist with any portion of the cost. If they are chosen, her mom would use the money to purchase the best augmentative device allowing the EA, speech and language therapist and mom to improve her skills and get the practice she needs to be able to use it effectively. How wonderful would it be to help this beautiful child communicate with her family!
With any remaining funds Rylins parents will be able to access other supports Rylin will need to help further her development and quality of life. A private Occupational Therapist would help Rylin with her aversion to clothes and pullups as well as learning to use the toilet. She is often taking everything off on the bus, in school, at home etc. Her mother, EA and brother often help her to redress to keep her dignity in public spaces. She also has very minimal self help skills that a private OT could help improve to further Rylin's independence with eating, dressing and self care. A respite worker would be beneficial for this family as mom is the sole caregiver as she is unable to work due to the complex needs of Rylin. Rylins father works full time and has a side job to help supplement income. Respite would allow this mom quality time with Rylins older brother as he does not get the attention and support he needs due to Rylins complex needs and aversions. Accessing a private physio therapist would also assist Rylin and her family as right now she falls a lot and has low muscle tone. This results in her mother having to carry her often which you can appreciate is not an easy task. She is too large for strollers and the fold away wagons do not fit into their current vehicle. The family could also use the funds to help safe proof their home so the fear of Rylin hurting herself and getting into unsafe situations could be relieved. They have a pool since that is her joy but it is also a hazard as she has mastered all the things they have tried to put in place to keep her from going in the pool without supervision.

Join Miracle Golf Day in Mississauga
Miracle Golf Day began in 2017, when RE/MAX Enterprises and RE/MAX Specialists teamed up to give the gift of hearing to a special little girl from the Philippines. The golf day raised over $16,000 and inspired Specialists owner Greg Gilmour to pay the entire cost of the surgery, giving the family a fund for speech therapy and Trisha’s education.
Charged by the success of Trisha’s Miracle, the Golf Day committee decided to make it an annual event. In 2018, we raised over $17,000 for Aiden, a boy from Port Perry with Cerebral Palsy and a single mother of 4. With the funds at Aiden’s Miracle, Aiden was able to get a new custom wheelchair and an exercise bike to keep his body as limber as possible. In 2019, we raised over $23,000 for 4 year-old Layla from Mississauga who has Cerebral Palsy. The funds raised at Layla’s Miracle was used to help obtain a variety of equipment and devices to aid Layla with her gross and fine motor skills, along with medication that was not covered, and a larger vehicle that fits her Walker and Wheelchair. In 2020, the pandemic prevented us from hosting a Golf Day, but we supported a local Pizza Nova Franchise owner in raising funds for the Knapp family, who suffered the loss of the father shortly after the mother of two had survived a bacterial infection that resulted in the amputation of several fingers, toes, and part of her foot. With only a few days of fundraising, we were able to contribute $3000. In 2021 we supported Tyler, a boy from Burlington who has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy following a Bacterial Meningitis infection he contracted at 3 weeks old. The funds raised helped Tyler's parents make their home wheelchair accessible.
